Dragon's Dogma 2 becomes highest-grossing premium game on Steam, Stardew Valley jumps 44 positions
Capcom now has another successful release in its portfolio, with Dragon’s Dogma having a strong debut on the Steam charts. Let’s take a look at the best-selling titles on the platform over the past week.

Counter-Strike 2 remained the top-grossing game on Steam for the week of March 19-26. When only looking at premium titles, Dragon’s Dogma 2 topped the chart.
Capcom’s latest action RPG had a troubled launch in terms of player reception, with criticism aimed at poor performance even on high-end hardware and microtransactions. The latter can be obtained in-game for free, and they and are present in most of the publisher’s games, so the practice isn’t new, but players were still unhappy with the additional monetization in a $70 single-player title.
After a wave of negative reviews, its user score improved to “Mixed” (53% positive reviews). Dragon’s Dogma 2 also reached a new peak of 228,585 concurrent players over the weekend (via SteamDB). Capcom is now working on fixing the optimization-related issues, and it will be interesting to wait until the company announces official sales figures.
Looking at other new releases on the Steam charts, Horizon Forbidden West climbed 59 positions to #5 overall (#3 when only looking at premium titles). With sales of Helldivers 2 still strong, we now have two PlayStation-published games in the top 5.
Alone in the Dark, which came out on March 20, debuted at #50. The game received a 77% rating on Steam, but peaked at only 1,628 concurrent players.

One of the most impressive changes on the chart is the rise of Stardew Valley, which jumped 44 positions to #14 overall (#9 when only looking at premium titles). The game has been showing record player numbers since the release of the major 1.6 update, recently peaking at 236,614 concurrent players.
Battlefield 2024, which is currently 85% off at $8.99, climbed from 45th to 19th place overall.
Naraka: Bladepoint, a free-to-play hit from 24 Entertainment, also experienced a huge boost in gross revenue, ranking 17th on the Steam charts (up 25 positions). This is a result of the latest update, the start of the new season, and the special time-limited Easter event.
Gross revenue for some of the most notable indie releases of 2024 continued to decline. Backpack Battles lost 29 positions, landing at #64 overall. Other titles include Palworld (#24, down 7 positions), Enshrouded (#33, down 9 positions), Last Epoch (#35, down 14 positions), and Balatro (#44, down 7 positions).
